MUSIC

The music is original compositions of many different styles such as Jazz, Rock, Latin-Jazz.  Many of the influences and inspiration come from artists such as The Yellowjackets, Jean Luc-Ponty, Caldera, Spryo Gyra, Chick Corea Elektric Band, Dave Weckl Band, Steve Weingart, Jazz Crusaders and others.

The band has been performing since it's inception in January, 1999.  In 2001, the band released their first CD entitled, "Room For Change".

In 2002, The RARE FORM Band won the Orange County Music Award for "Best Jazz Performer".   This  motivated the group to continue with writing new music and performing.

In 2008, Cameron Medina joined the group as a Percussionist.  This created a whole different feel and sound the music.  Eventually new songs were developed with this new instrument and began to evolve the music in a new direction. 

The 3rd CD, "Against the Flow", was released in 2011 which includes Cameron Medina's debut recording with the band, as well as, guess guitarists; Paul Hayes, Arturo Gutierrez (from the Gutierrez Brothers) and Greg Gutierrez.

ARTISTS

	Eric Garcia - DRUMS Eric formed the group in 1999 as a project to record a CD of original music he had written.  Eric brings a variety of styles in the music written and his drumming. Eric currently studies under drumming legend, Dave Weckl.
	Alex Garcia - KEYBOARDS Alex brings a wealth of musical ideas and experience to the group and contributes to the songwriting of the group as well. Alex currently studies under master keyboardist, Steve Weingart.
	Greg Alvarado - SAXOPHONES Greg's musical gift as a saxophonist is what defines a lot of the melodies in the music.  His ability to learn complex patterns quickly is what every band desires in a artist.  Aside from his saxophone talent, he plays acoustic guitar, writes music and sings.
	Dave Kreiner - BASS Dave has been playing bass since he was 15 years old growing up in Southern Connecticut, and for 20 years around the Los Angeles area.  Dave adds a great feel and solid groove to the band's music.
	Cameron Medina - PERCUSSION Cameron Medina has been playing percussion more than 10 years. With influences like Ralph MacDonald and Mongo Santamaria, Cameron is a mostly self taught percussionist with skills on bongos, congas and anything he can hit with his hands!
